Bring an environmental message into your kitchen with the Log and Roll paper towel holder. Every time a piece of paper towel is pulled, the tree and the little squirrel will slowly duck down into the log. Not only does this tell you when you are running low on paper towel, but it also reminds us that the more paper we use, the more threatening it is to trees and wildlife.

TIMBER
Wipe clean with damp cloth and dry with a clean cloth for general cleaning
Use beeswax polish for the occasional polish, avoid polishes with silicon waxes (like Mr Sheen)
Spills should be cleaned up and not left on the surface
Avoid heat sources and direct sunlight
During the first week of use, we do not recommend placing any object on the surface because irregular absorption of light can leave permanent stains or marks
UPHOLSTERY
Consider treating your furniture with water-based fabric protection
Rotate and fluff reversible cushions weekly to maintain cushion shape
Vacuum regularly using low suction
Protect from direct sunlight
Treat spills and stains as soon as possible. Gently scrape any soil or mop any liquid from the surface of the fabric
Do not remove cushion covers for separate cleaning or washing, even though they may have zippers
Shampoo clean using upholstery shampoo. Do not use dish washing or laundry detergents. Dry in shade away from direct heat. Allow to dry thoroughly before re-use
Do not wet cushion filling
Annual professional cleaning recommended through hot water extraction machine
Pilling can occur occasionally as a result of normal daily wear and should not be considered as a fault. Fibre pills can be removed by a battery operated pilling shaver
REMOVING STAINS FROM UPHOLSTERY
Use Carpet Power Spot Stain Remover (available in supermarkets)
spray onto a clean white cloth (coloured cloths may rub colour onto the fabric)
spray on the cloth (not on the upholstered fabric), as spraying the fabric could dilute the stain and make it spread further
Roll the cloth from the outside to the center
Only rub lightly if stain is resisting the roll method
Let dry, no need to rub off
If stain is not removed, repeat process. It may take a couple of attempts
LEATHER
Protect from direct sunlight, heat and weather
Dust with a lightly dampened cloth
Wipe contact areas of perspiration and body oils on a weekly basis
Remove all liquid and food spills immediately
Apply Aniline or Semi-Aniline leather care products at least twice a year for maintenance
Scratches can be buffed to soften their appearance, a towel and quality leather balm/conditioner will help
Do not use shoe, saddle, or floor polishes or laundry cleaning products
Do not use solvents or cleaning fluids, abrasive powders, and paste cleaners
Do not wet excessively
Avoid hard rubbing or scrubbing
Protect from direct/continuous sunlight and any sources of heat
ETHNICRAFT TEAK
The solid Teak in the Ethnicraft collection is premium grade and untreated as it contains high levels of natural oils to make it water resistant.
The oiled surface should be regularly cleaned using a mild soap and water. Any spill should be removed from the surface immediately, but there is no guarantee against stains as this is a raw timber.
ETHNICRAFT OAK
Most of the Ethnicraft Oak furniture is finished with a pigmented hard wax oil. This protective finish forms a natural coating, repelling most common substances and fluids, but is no foolproof guarantee against stains.
For regular dusting, use a dry, non-fluffy cloth.
For cleaning, use a damp sponge or cloth (not too wet) with a mild solution of water and natural soap (no detergent)
For refreshing the surface of the furniture when the wood starts to feel dry or for removing stains, Ethnicraft recommends Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner (3029).
Through time and depending on wear, the original hard wax coating on the furniture may need to be renewed. Make sure the surface is clean and dry, then use extra fine sand paper (minimum 320 grit) and work in the direction of the wood grain, then apply a hard-wax oil – Ethnicraft recommends the Osmo Hard Wax Oil Natural (3068). Contact us for detailed instruction for refinishing. Please note, this oil protection is no guarantee against stains.
ETHNICRAFT WALNUT
All Ethnicraft Walnut furniture is first tinted with coloured oil and then finished with natural oil. This finish forms a natural coating, protecting it against most substances and fluids, but is no complete guarantee against stains.
ETHNICRAFT LEATHER
The upholstery of our leather chairs and sofas should not be washed or dry-cleaned. To keep the leather in optimal condition we recommend the following:
To avoid discoloration do not place the sofa in direct sunlight
Frequently wipe the leather sofa down with a clean dry cloth
Treat spills immediately. Blot up as much of the spill as possible with a clean, dry, white cloth. Don't rub
In case of a stain, use a clean, slightly damp white cloth, blotting from the outer edge to the center of the stain. Do not use any chemical products not designed for leather
Use a towel to evenly dry the leather. Do not use a hairdryer for this purpose as it is likely to dehydrate the leather
Your table is varnished with a water-based varnish to repel common substances and fluids such as coffee, tea and wine. However, this protective coat is no foolproof guarantee against stains.
Always use coasters to prevent the hot surface from leaving marks on the tabletop
For regular dusting, use a dry cloth. For a more thorough cleaning, use a damp cloth and natural detergents
The table surfaces should be treated carefully as they can get scratched when using aggressive cleaning products and get ruined by extreme heat.
These products are intended for indoor use only
To prevent staining, we recommend that any spills be removed immediately
Direct contact with abrasive/high acidity products should be avoided
METAL LEGS
Dust regularly using a soft dry cloth
For a more thorough cleaning, use mild soap and warm water
Rinse with clean water and wipe dry
Do not use steel wool, sandpaper, mineral acid, bleach or chlorine cleaners on metal surfaces
